An iced London fog is made with earl grey tea, milk, and the optional addition of sugar. It's a citrusy blend from the oil of bergamot infused with bold black tea leaves.
2 tspyour choice of sweetener such as: honey, simple syrup, or lavender syrup
ice to fill a glass
pinchdried lavender buds to garnishoptional
Optional Cold Foam
¼cupskim milk(2oz)
2tspsimple syrupoptional, to make sweet cold foam
Instructions
Boil water in a pot, kettle, or electric tea kettle. Steep the earl grey tea bag for 5-10 minutes. The longer the steep, the stronger the tea flavor will be. I don't like to steep earl grey tea for longer than 10 minutes.
Let the tea cool down for as long as possible. If you're in a rush, aim for 10 minutes. For the best taste, make this tea and let it chill overnight in the refrigerator.
Add ice to a glass and fill with your milk of choice. I prefer a 16oz glass to leave room for the ice cubes! Pour the tea over the milk and add sweetener if desired. Some ice will melt if the tea is not fully cooled. Optional: Sprinkle some dried lavender buds on the top. They look pretty but they do add a nice floral taste.
Cold Foam
Froth milk using whatever method you prefer (electric milk frother, handheld frother, or shaken in a sealed jar). Add to the top pf your London fog latte.
Notes
The best way to avoid watered down tea from added ice, is to prepare the tea ahead so it can be cold before serving.
