Pretzels dipped in chocolate or candy melts is a delicious combination. These Halloween pretzels are perfect for parties, school events, and as gifts. The first best part? They’re pretty easy to make. The second best part? They’re pretty easy to make. Just kidding, dipping and decorating Halloween pretzels is a fun project that you can also do with kids.
Are Making Dipped Pretzels Easy?
All you have to do is gather the pretzels, edible candy eyes, sprinkles, candy melts or chocolate. Candy melts are going to be the easiest because they’re made to melt quickly and dry fast. Chocolate does taste better…in my opinion, but will be a little messier to work with (but not impossible). You can also try almond bark!
To make things as easy as you can, gather all of your ingredients. Pour sprinkles into bowls, divide out the smaller edible candy eyes, and melt your chocolate or candy melts into bowls. Remember, candy melts harden quickly but you can always reheat them in the microwave. Once you’ve got everything set up like an assembly line, you can dip Halloween pretzels without everything being all over the place.

How To Get Thin Chocolate For Dipping
The secret to thinning out your chocolate or candy melts is to add coconut oil or EZ thins to your melted chocolate and mix together. Maybe you’re asking is this necessary? If you want to make life easier than yes, it will help with dipping.
Thinner chocolate or candy melts takes longer to harden and makes it much easier to run off the pretzels. I personally don’t dip things in chocolate with using coconut oil or EZ thins.
What You Need
Below I broke down what you need for each of the four different designs. If you’re just choosing to make one design, then only follow the list for that design. Some of these ingredients repeat, so if you’re going to make all of the designs you don’t have to buy doubles of the ingredients.

How To Make Halloween Pretzels
Each design will start with the step below. Make sure to only microwave in small increments and stir in-between to avoid burning the chocolate. Also avoid getting any water drips into the chocolate or it’ll seize and then you’ll have to start over with new chocolate.
Microwave the candy melts/chocolate/almond bark in a microwavable safe bowl for 30 second increments, stirring in-between. Add coconut oil or EZ thin chips if using and stir until combined and smooth. Use a fork to help coat the entire pretzel and then lift it out of the bowl, shaking it to get the excess off.

Monsters
Add different sized candy eyes onto the pretzel before it dries. Let it dry completely before covering.

Pumpkins
Follow the instructions above for how to melt chocolate or candy melts.
Dip the pretzel into the orange candy melts, shaking off the excess. Add a mini green M&M to the top of the pretzel and let it dry completely. If you want to fill in the holes to look more pumpkin like, dip the pretzel a second time before adding the M&M.

Mummies
Follow the instructions above for how to melt almond bark.
Dip the pretzel into candy melts or almond bark and let it dry completely. Dip a knife or spoon into the candy melts and let it run off while moving the spoon back and forth over the pretzels. Add medium sized edible candy eyes.

Halloween sprinkle rods
Follow the instructions above for how to melt chocolate or candy melts.
Pour the melted candy coating or chocolate into a tall glass. Add Halloween sprinkles into another tall glass. Dip the pretzel rod into the glass while tilting it slightly. Rotate the pretzel rod so that it evenly coated. Wait about 10-15 seconds and then dip the pretzel into the sprinkles. Tilt the glass slightly so that it covers the whole pretzel.
Let the pretzels dry completely before packaging. Put parchment paper between layers of pretzels to avoid sticking.
How To Store Halloween Pretzels
Dipped pretzels will last for 7 days at room temperature covered in an airtight container.
