Iced London Fog
An iced London fog latte is made by steeping earl grey tea in hot water, chilling the tea, adding ice to a glass, and pouring the tea over cold milk. You can choose to add the optional addition of sweetener. It’s citrusy aromatics come from the infusion of bergamot into the richness of black tea. This is the iced version of the more traditional hot London fog latte.

What Does An Iced London Fog Taste Like?
An iced London fog is made by steeping earl grey tea in hot water. Earl grey tea is black tea that’s infused with bergamot oil. Bergamot is a citrusy fruit that creates that district taste of earl grey tea.
Traditionally, a London fog is serve as a hot latte, with a ratio of steeped tea to milk and sometimes a sweetener. A London fog also makes a great iced drink, that taste both uplifting and comforting.
The drink pairs well other additions such as vanilla, simple syrup, lavender syrup, and honey. To put it simply, this is one of my favorite tea lattes to make at home!

Ingredients
This recipe makes 1 serving but you can adjust to make more servings.

- Optional other additions: vanilla extract, lavender buds
A few helpful tips
Is an Iced London Fog Sweet?
This depends on the sweetener that you use and how much of it you add. I prefer around 1-2 teaspoons honey or simple syrup. Adding a sweetener is not necessary but does pair well.
You can add vanilla extract if you prefer. Vanilla extract gives the drink a warmer flavor.
The best part about learning how to make tea lattes at home, is that you have the ability to add and change the recipe to make the perfect tea latte of your dreams.
Does an Iced London Fog Have Caffeine?
Yes, there is caffeine in black tea. Because the way teas are processed is unique to each brand, there is not one specific amount of caffeine. On average, there is most likely a range between 40-80 milligrams of caffeine in an iced London fog.
There are decaffeinated earl grey teas! Harney & Sons sells a decaffeinated earl grey tea which is perfect if you have a London fog latte craving at night!
Add Cold Foam *optional*
Cold foam is a frothy milk-based topping that adds a little something special to a drink. To make it, you aerate cold milk until it is very light and foamy. There are many ways to make cold foam! You can use a hand held frother, a blender, a French press, a cold foam machine, or even by shaking milk vigorously in a jar.

How To Make An Iced London Fog

- Boil water in a pot, kettle, or electric tea kettle. Steep the earl grey tea bag for 5-10 minutes. The longer the steep, the stronger the tea flavor will be. I don’t like to steep earl grey tea for longer than 10 minutes.
- Let the tea cool down for as long as possible. If you’re in a rush, aim for 10 minutes. For the best taste, make this tea and let it chill overnight in the refrigerator.
- Add ice to a glass and fill with your milk of choice. I prefer this pretty ribbed 16oz glass to leave room for the ice cubes! Pour the tea over the milk and add sweetener if desired.
- *Optional* Prepare your cold foam and on top and sprinkle on dried lavender buds.
Serve right away and enjoy!

- Let the tea cool down for as long as possible. If you're in a rush, aim for 10 minutes. For the best taste, make this tea and let it chill overnight in the refrigerator.
