How To Make A Valentine’s Day Sweets Board

There’s nothing like hanging out with your girlfriends, chatting, and grazing on sweets. This Valentine’s day sweets board is so easy to throw together and everyone will love it! Add Valentine’s themed candy which makes it that much cuter!

Okay, think charcuterie board but Valentine’s day themed. Now call it a sweets board and it’s cute and fitting for the holiday and for your loved ones.  

Valentine’s Themed Candy

All of the candy in this post is from Dylan’s Candy Bar and Trader Joe’s. Look for heart shaped candy during the Valentine’s season. Adding hearts, lips, and cute shapes like cherries and ice cream cones gives the sweets board a lil something extra than your typical treats. 

This year I found heart shaped rice crackers at Trader Joe’s, how cute is that?!

Valentine Sweet Boards Ideas

There’s many ways to put together a sweets board and that’s the best part – everyone’s board will look unique. You also don’t have to have the traditional charcuterie board style. 

The new trendy thing is to have a grazing table. I’ve seen people put down big sheets of parchment paper right onto their countertops and lay out the snacks directly onto that. I think this idea is so fun! Your guests can graze their heart out and be delighted by the cute snacks. 

How To Present The Sweets

You don’t have to go out and purchase a whole new serving platter. You can:

• Use a wooden charcuterie board
• Lay down parchment paper on a flat surface
• Use a cake stand
• Use a cutting board or large serving platter

Just shape the snacks into a heart if you’re looking for an extra Valentine’s detail.

Since this post is all about Valentine’s day, the ideas will be related to all things pink and red (but if you love other colors, choose snacks that fit your theme!).

• All pink sweets board
  • Ideas: Pink gummy bears, pink bubblegum, pink wrapped chocolates, pink dipped pretzels, pocky, pink marshmallows, raspberries, strawberries, pink frost cookies, rock candy etc.
• All red sweets board
  • Ideas: Red M&Ms, chocolate dipped strawberries, Swedish fish, red gummy bears, red sour candy, red rose chocolates, red velvet crinkle cookies, gummy cherries, etc.

  • Ideas: Shape everything into a heart! Use raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, pretzels, healthy yogurt dip or dark chocolate dip, etc.

Why You’ll Love Making A Sweets Board

Valentine’s day or Galentine’s day, is a great “excuse” to get together with friends and enjoy each other’s company. I know, the traditional idea behind this Hallmark holiday is romantic love, but that’s boring (there’s many kinds of love out there 💗).

If you’re planning a Galentine’s day (a day to celebrate your girlfriends) then make one of these boards or bring one to a party. I promise that it’ll be popular and picture worthy.

If you make a board that doesn’t have any snacks that require refrigerating, then you can make this in advance! Just cover it and it’s ready to be eaten the next day.

You can surprise your significant other with a movie night and a sweets board. It’ll be something a little out of the ordinary and that’s what makes this fun.
