Ideas For Elevating Your Movie Night

Before you sit down to watch your movie, check out this list of ideas on how to make it the perfect experience. Half of the fun of a movie night is setting it up to be cozy!

If you try one or more of the ideas below, it’s up to you because whether or not you’re having a movie night with someone or just for yourself – it’s okay to go all out and enjoy the little things in life!

Create moody lighting: Hang warm toned string lights in the room and turn down any bright overhead lights. Warm lighting helps us feel relaxed, and when we feel cozy it perfectly sets the tone for watching a Halloween movie.

Find cute pillows: Make your space comfortable by decorating your couch or bed with pillows. Shop for Halloween pillows, fall pillows, or just grab your favorite pillows that you already own and then pile them next to you!

Light candles for cozy smells: We can definitely underestimate how scents make us feel. Light your favorite fall candle and enjoy the atmosphere the scents create while getting lost in a movie. This year, I purchased this Hello Fall! candle from Etsy (women owned small business), and it makes the house smell so cozy.

Buy a cute snack bowl: Sometimes it really is the little things that can create the perfect fall movie night. That can be mean eating popcorn out of a cute bowl, or finding an adorable tray for your snacks. We use this cute melamine popcorn bowl.

Get comfortable: Before you sit down, make sure to grab your favorite cozy blanket, your favorite slippers, and cute fall pajamas. Tip: match your slippers or pajamas with your friend or significant other.

Get your favorite snacks: Snacks seriously make the movie night experience so enjoyable. Check out my list of homemade fall baking recipes to bake for your movie night or buy your favorite treats to enjoy while watching a not so scary Halloween movie. Try serving the treats on this beautiful pumpkin wooden board!

Cute fall beverages: You can’t forget your favorite drink to sip with your snacks! Find your perfect Halloween/fall themed mug or glass, then make a fall drink like hot apple cider, chai latte, pumpkin spice latte, your favorite tea, or hot chocolate with ground cinnamon.
